Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh has claimed that Arsenal’s young winger Alex Iwobi has the potential to become the “best” player in the world from Africa. During the game on Sunday between Arsenal and Burnley, a match the Gunners won 1-0 in the very last minute, Oliseh made the prediction whilst watching Iwobi for the 71 minutes he was on the pitch. Iwobi, a Nigeria international himself now, has made seven chances in five appearances for the Gunners this season and should he manage to fulfil Oliseh’s prediction, he would follow in the footsteps of Didier Drogba, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Yaya Toure as winners of the African Player of the Year award. Iwobi’s Arsenal now sit third in the league, two points off of Manchester City at the top.
