Selena Gomez’s stepfather did something amazing for Christina Grimmie’s family
On Friday night, the world lost a beacon of light when singer Christina Grimmie was shot and killed during a meet and greet in Orlando. In the wake of this tragic event, many have come forward to share their love for Grimmie.
Christina’s The Voice coach Adam Levine created an Instagram post in her memory and is even offering to pay for the young woman’s funeral. Countless YouTubers have shown their support on social media, honoring the fact that Christina was a YouTube sensation and all-around amazing woman. Grimmie’s close friend Selena Gomez also took a moment to pay tribute to Christina when, during her Miami concert, she dedicated the song Transfiguration to her.
Not only is Selena offering her support and love to Christina’s family – so is her stepdad Brian Teefey. He was Grimmie’s long-time manager, who discovered her on YouTube and soon after became her representation. During an interview with Seventeen, Christina revealed, “I’m so blessed that they’re in my life. They’re literally like a family — Selena has been so encouraging ever since we got hooked up. It’s crazy! It’s very much a fairy tale.” Though Christina is no longer with us, Teefey aims to continue being there for the Grimmie family.
To help Christina’s loved ones live a worry-free life during this time of grief, Brian started a GoFundMe campaign with the goal to raise $4,000. Since then, the page has garnered over $150,000.
